Want to get involved in the UBC Civil Engineering Club? Now is your chance! Your student society is looking for enthusiastic students who want to make a positive change in their community! The UBC Civil will be undergoing a restructure in 2017/2018 and there are lots of exciting opportunities for you.

Civil Club Volunteer Recruitment will be accepting applications throughout the term! Interviews will be held on a rolling basis.

Executive

This is our highest level of volunteer.  This type of position often includes overseeing a large aspect of a portfolio, coordinating other volunteers beneath them, and committing to 10 or more hours per week. These positions are elected each year.

Coordinators

Coordinators work on special projects, often under an executive, committing to 5-10 hours per week.

Representatives

Representative positions are lower levels of commitment, but they’re still a great way to get involved with the Civil Club! Representatives do a lot of the legwork of the Civil Club, from putting up posters to selling Merch! This position is a less than 5 hour per week commitment.

Executive Policy

Each Executive shall:

  1. Be an Active Member of the Society during the term they are serving.
  2. Be an Active Member of the Society during the term they are serving.
  3. Occupy only one position within the Society.
  4. Serve from when appointed by Board to April 30.
  5. Be expected to dedicate approximately 10 or more hours a week during the academic term.
  6. Uphold the Constitution and policies of the Society.
  7. Ensure the Coordinators and Representatives for which they are responsible are properly trained.
  8. Oversee the Coordinators and Representatives for which they are assigned and ensure that they fulfill their roles in a satisfactory manner.
  9. Absorb, re-delegate, or otherwise be responsible where necessary for any and all duties not satisfactorily carried out by those Coordinators and Representatives assigned to them.
  10. In the case where a Coordinators and Representative is not filled, the Executive shall absorb, re-delegate, or otherwise be responsible for all duties of that position.
  11. Coordinate with executives, director, and other managers as needed to ensure the logistics of their event or service are carried out.
  12. Promote the Society to both civil students and the external community.
  13. Train their replacements at the end of their term and provide them with any relevant files, reports, introductions, and paperwork needed for them to do their roles effectively.
  14. Have other duties as assigned.

Each Coordinator shall:
